Nitron elec-TRON Technology
The Nitron elec-TRON system combines proven suspension engineering with precision electronic control to deliver outstanding handling, stability, and ride comfort.
At its core is Nitron’s proprietary proportional solenoid valve, enabling independent control of compression and rebound damping at each wheel. This allows the suspension to respond instantly to changing conditions, with an ultra-fast 6–8 millisecond response time and a broad operating range of 300–1800 mA.
The valve is mounted directly onto the piston rod, finely controlling the bleed characteristics of the shim stack. This works seamlessly with Nitron’s gas-pressurised monotube design, ensuring consistent performance, durability, and fade resistance.
R1 vs R3 Configuration
R1:
Damping is controlled entirely through the electronic system for simplicity and precision.
R3:
Adds manual high- and low-speed compression adjusters, allowing users to set a baseline before the system applies real-time electronic fine-tuning.
Intelligent Damping Control
The system continuously adjusts damping force using real-time inputs such as:
- G-force load
- Vehicle speed
- Road surface conditions
- Driver inputs
This results in a highly responsive suspension setup that enhances driver confidence and vehicle control in all driving scenarios.
OEM Integration
For models equipped with factory Electronic Damper Control (EDC), the elec-TRON system integrates seamlessly with the OEM electronics. This allows full use of standard in-car controls and drive modes, while significantly improving damping precision and responsiveness.
For non-EDC vehicles, the system is operated via Nitron’s dedicated Damping Control Unit (DCU).
