Description
Standard vehicles are typically equipped with rubber/metal composite bushes, which offer good noise isolation and suit OEM requirements. However, they compromise on rotational freedom and can allow unwanted deflection under load, reducing the precision of wishbone location.
The Nitron wishbone bearing kit replaces all inner rubber bushes with 15mm PTFE (Teflon)-lined spherical bearings, delivering significantly improved accuracy and consistency under load. For installation, the bearings are usually chilled beforehand to achieve a precise interference fit.
Each bearing is paired with precision-machined spacers made from 7075‑T6 hard-anodised aluminium. These incorporate ‘O’-ring seals to ensure effective protection once installed, keeping contaminants out and maintaining long-term performance.
Unlike rubber bushes, these bearings do not require preloading or tightening to a specific orientation. Fully sealed and designed for durability, they are maintenance-free in service.
The kit includes:
- 14 shorter bearing assemblies
- 2 longer bearing assemblies
These are designed for the front end of the rear lower wishbones.
We recommend using a lithium-based waterproof grease during installation (available as part of the NTR R1/R3 installation accessory kit).
